Based on extensive professional business development experience in international markets — where I provided a turn-key service involving all aspects of the business development process —  from identification of opportunities all the way through to closing of new business — I help international professional services firms build their practices.

What uniquely distinguishes my coaching service offer is I have built professional services books of business — where I regularly generated 6 and 7 figure annual new greenfield revenue for my professional services sector clients.

I have helped my clients secure new client engagements from throughout the world including heads of foreign sovereign governments, heads of national trade associations, heads of state owned enterprises, CEO’s and General Counsel of multinational corporations, heads of private equity firms, CEO’s of middle-market companies, startup founders, and many more. 

I began my career serving as a writer to President George HW Bush in The White House and went on to serve in senior staff roles in the California Legislature, where my focus included legislative drafting and media communications.

I later worked as an aide to former British Foreign Secretary & EU Negotiator for the Former Yugoslavia David Owen, where I drafted & edited semi-scholarly publications and media relations materials during the campaign in support of the UK’s continued presence in the EU, while remaining outside the Euro currency zone.

I then began a focus on professional services business development – working with employers and clients from throughout the world specialized in governmental relations and public affairs, legal and financial services. Most notably, I represented US AmLaw 100 law firm Patton Boggs LLP in a business development capacity in Europe for most of the 2000’s.

Throughout my career I’ve regularly written about international business development strategies for publications including the Wall Street Journal Europe, The Lawyer, Asian Legal Business, Axial Market, Marketing in Asia, Legal Business World, and Remaking Law Firms. In 2014 I authored: A Comprehensive Guide to the Asia-Pacific Legal Markets. I edit and publish Asia Law Portal, a blog and social media channels about Asia’s legal innovators.

I’m a graduate of Google Squared Online Marketing Leadership Course, hold a Certificate in EU Studies from Sciences Po in Paris, a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University.

A lawyer by training, I’m an active member of the District of Columbia Bar.
